HA! I was just looking for this too! Hopefully someone knows where to get one? I suspect, though, we will have to get something custom made...

I would find someone that has the machine needed to cut S/S and have them made. If you ask on the site and see how many people would like some it may bring the cost down from the stratosphere to just really expensive.

I might look at 3D printing something. I'll let you know.

Years ago I asked the Navigator Yachts factory foreman if there were any metal Californian nameplates remaining. He advised me they were often requested but not available any longer. He suggested looking at making a peel-n-stick version.

That was before the Navigator facility was sold and closed.

Californian Logo

Well, yesterday I pulled off the backing plate and to my surprise, it’s not plastic. It’s actually aluminum and the logo is cast aluminum. Rather than replace it, I’m going to sand and re-paint the plate. I have already sanded the face of the letters back to a smooth finish. They standup to sanding very nicely. Looks gorgeous.

Ray,
I don't have any Californian nameplate on my boat, so I need to recreate it from scratch. Could you give me the basic dimensions of yours while you have it off and working on it? Dimensions of the base LxWxH and a few different dimensions of the lettering: LxWxH of the Capital "C" and the small "o". And the length of the whole "Californian". I am making a high resolution image of the Californian logo made from a high quality scan of my User Manual. Prefer it in metric, but Inches is fine too. I am going to model this up in Fusion 360.

The C is 2 inches high by 3 inches wide

The o is 5/8 inch high and 1 inch wide

The LOA is 13 1/4 inches.

@Dboat - let me know if you want to come down and see mine. (Mission Bay) I can also take some photos if you need.

Here's a link to an earlier thread on this topic...
https://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/...e-s-37326.html

This link goes to the post with my logos from a few years ago.

Being 1977 originals, mine definitely need some cleanup!

I'll combine the two threads on this same topic to make it easier to find the info.

This company makes custom badges for guitar amps. The site says they can do custom artwork and custom sizes in stainless.

Here is what I have modeled up in Fusion 360 so far. It took me a while to get all the curves corrected from my imported picture.

TG, That company looks promising for a Stainless Steel nameplate..

I am very interested in obtaining a pair of these if available. Perhaps a group buy could be arranged.

I finally made a first 3D Print. Not perfect yet, but still pretty good.
