Californian Hull Identification Number Search

Is there a site where I can put a Californian Hull ID to find out where it was built and the model? I have the date built figured out, just looking for other information included in the HIN. Search this site but could nt come up with that info.

Welcome aboard. I don’t believe that HINs have plant build location in them.

Years ago, I spoke with Gil Marshall (son of Jule Marshall) on speaker phone with Jule Marshall sitting at the next desk in their office at Navigator Yachts. Gil told me (and Jule agreed) that a HIN with JCM means built by Jule Marshall in California. The records for HIN sequences had been lost through the years of ownership transfer between Marshall Boats, Wellcraft and Carver.

Maybe if you can post your HIN, someone here might be able to help you decipher it.

For example, mine is JCM034010277. My best take on it is...

JCM - Built by Marshall Boats in CA
034 - 34 ft
01 - Hull #1
02 - Feb
77 - 1977
