Radiant is a 1991 Carver Californian 48ft MY. Her aft deck roof will be home to our new 11 ft dinghy. The dinghy is a 115lb aluminum job with an 85lb Tohatsu 9.8 4stroke.

I’m about to mount some Weaver dinghy chocks and was wondering what the core is comprised of. If wood, then I will use screws, if something else, I will thru-bolt the chocks. Anyone know?

Ray - I am not sure but suspect it is core would be most logical.. but my 48 CPMY 1989 had chocks throughbolted when i bought her and they leak, with rusty stains visible from the aft deck.

So the takeaway would be to be really careful to ensure waterproof, durable through bolting / screws.

Hope this helps
