I've looked around a bit and can't seem to find the answer. Does anyone know the ratio of Engine RPM to Propeller RPM for the 34' Californian with the T6.354MGT engine? In one of the scanned articles on the sticky post there is a reference to 15:1, but it's hard to see maybe it is 1.5:1?

I have the 200 horsepower ST6.354M Perkins and I believe the gears are 1.52:1 Port and 1.6:1 starboard. There is a little difference to the ratio as they counter rotate. Engines are 200 HP at 2400 RPMs.

The only way to be certain is look at the label on the trans. You can also could shaft turns while baring engine. Label is much easier.
Strobe tachometer would work as well.

I bought a strobe tach gauge and used it to verify my new tachometer installation. I will have to use that for the props the next time I'm out.
