A Death Notice published today in the Sydney Morning Herald records the loss, at 96 years and 11 months, following a short illness, of:
Magnus Halvorsen
Master Boat Builder and Ocean Yachtsman
He was one of the Halvorsen brothers who for many years engaged variously in the design and construction of numerous vessels for work, naval, and pleasure uses, marina operations, and at one time operated the largest hire and charter boat fleet in the southern hemisphere.
He will be best remembered for the many timber "Halvorsen" cruisers regularly seen in use on the water, and at classic timber Boat Shows and Exhibitions.
