when i see the pretty boats on the left side of posts, are they the result of attaching an image everytime you post or do you have an image attached to your profile/sig?

The image on the left is your "avatar". It represents you. It could be a photo of you, your boat or whatever. To accomplish this click on "User Details" in the bar above. Then click on "Avatar" on the top left of the new window. Then select "upload an avatar" (the center selection in the middle of the page). Then you will find and empty dialog box near the bottom of the page. Select the "browse" button. This will access your hard drive, where you will then locate and select a photo from your library. Then hit the "upload" button next to the browse button. It will take a while to load. When it is loaded, you will need to highlight it and then select the "upload avatar" button just beneath the photo. That's it.

thanks carey. i thought avatar was the resin the wright brothers used to stick the fabric to the wing wood. or maybe a knife you cut thanksgiving turkey with or a bulgarian headdress. i will do it. bta

Bruce, Carey's instructions are correct.* I do think in order for a pic to show up in your signature, you will have to have the pic hosted on an external site and then attach it to your signature(a little more advanced than the avatar or pic posting).* As long as the pic remains hosted, there would be no need to do it every time you post.* If the pic became "unposted" we would most likely see the dreaded "red X"
