Mainship transom work

Hello,
The transom on my 43' Mainship appears to be approximately 3.5" thick and hollow. I'd like to cut into the inner skin and create a recess where I can store my shore power cord. Does anyone know if there is any structural members I need to avoid and if so, where are they?
Thanks,
Dave

You should be able to look up into the transom from the rudder hatch. I changed out my rear shower box and the lines came up freely from the bottom. You might try pulling the rear shower box out and looking in from there.

I can only confirm 100% that the late model yrs 34T / 34HT have no connection inside to outer hull. I can access from lazarette. As suggested remove an aft shower if one there andoke around with a stiff snake or similar. Tapping w plastic / rubber hammer should also be helpful.

Mainship Transom

Hi guys,
I already pulled the shower and ran a snake without hitting anything along with tapping with a rubber mallet but will definitely try looking up from the rudder hatch.
I'll post a picture when completed.
Thanks
Dave
