Catch up or mark all read function?

Computer crashed yesterday. Of course now that I log on it looks like I haven't been here for several months. Is there a way to accomplish the above without literally looking at every post for the last few months?

On the home page you can click "mark all as read"

Tried that and it marks all the forums as having no new messages, but inside each forum the messages still show unread. If that button was inside each forum, that would be great. No big deal, I just read the first few in each. Now the unread ones below that will slowly fade off into the sunset! Thanks.

It would be very nice if the "Mark all as read" could be applied to each section rather than to all forums.
