I'm on a roll today! Two threads in as many hours!

We've got a 10 inflatable floor dinghy weighing in at 75 lbs excluding the motor. It's just us two and the dog. We've got a 12' Livingston that we'll tow for long distance adventure trips. I'm thinking we get the smallest, lightest inflatable for just going ashore and back to put in the davits. Anyone have something in the 7' range they're really happy with? Preferably 40 lbs or so?

Cheers

There are inflatable boats and there are inflatable water toys. The vinyl water toys are very light, just a couple pounds but one trip with the dogs toenails would find you at the bottom of the bay. Buy quality.

Thanks Brian, I was oogling those over the weekend. Coupled with a little 2.5 hp outboard, I could shed 50 lbs between the boat and engine... Tempting, especially since the outboard isn't running well....

Pete, good "point" on the dog claws. That is one of the primary functions is hikes ashore with the pup. I'd hate to go backwards and add the weight of some dinghy chaps...
