Teak or no teak?

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

Owned a 1971 GB 36 woodie and 2006 MS. I love teak. I love teak on anyone elses boat but the one I own and work on or in my case at age 71 the boat I pay someone to work on!

Been away from this thread so missed few recent replies

Yes. 60’ open is a new model. It is similar to 50’ ope. That is raised saloon and pilothouse on the same level as Saloon. I liked it because of its feeling of airiness. More of european styling than typical nordhaven or other KK models like KK 42 or 58. Ours will be hull #1.
No crew quarters on our boat. We are older couple wanting move to live aboard lifestyle so crew quarters would be cumbersome and waste of space. I agree that 60’ is too small to have crew quarters anyway.

We opted for Teak!

Thanks to everbody who shared their opinions and experiences with teak flooring. We will keep it simple and perhaps do what the previous poster - hire someone once in a while to take care of it.
