On our Manatee I cut the center hatch into 1/3 and 2/3
During engine room checks I could lift the 1/3 portion and view all critical components

Barefoot: Did you hinge either portion?

No, I didn't use any hinges, I found that with the center hatch removed( in 2 easy pieces) I could slide the other 2 hatches back and forth to access 90% of the engine room
