2001 Grand Banks Europa 52
Hi All,

We have a new to ue Grand Banks 2001, Europa 52. From what we understand the drainage issue of water from the top deck over flowing to the bottom decks has been and issue. We have tried using an L shaped channel to drain the water aft, but it seems the water overflows about midships.

Question to those Europa 52 owners out there, have you found a remedy?

Many thanks, Jim.

There are two drains forward port and starboard at the steering station, everything aft of the mast drains toward the stern port and starboard corners. The only issue we had was that the drains go through the stainless deck support pipes to the lower deck drains. They tend to clog easily and then the water will just run off the upper deck. Any strong precipitation will of course overwhelm the small drain pipes.

If water drains midships you might not have enough weight aft. Maybe full water tanks forward and little fuel midships and no tender aft. We had a battery bank in the lazarette, two water heaters and lots of stuff back there. No issue with overall drainage.
