Skookum trawler 41

I'm not the owner nor have any financial interest, I just think its a interesting boat that happens to be at our YC. She's a veteran of many Alaska trips and a very capable coastal cruiser, Well kept.

Looks like an interesting boat. Wasn't aware that shorter Skookums were built as the ones I've seen are in the 53' range and many were sail rigged. Several are still located out of Port Townsend. One of the longer ones I was familiar with was the sail rigged Rose that fished offshore out of Sitka by two women. Haven't been back to Sitka since the 2001 so not sure if it still has the same operation. Looks like it would be a good trawler. I think that particular Volvo is one of the good ones.

10,800 hours would indicate so!

Boat belongs to friends of ours at the YC.

The knowledgeable, seasoned owners took very good care of the boat. Excellent service, maintenance and equipment selection and installation. Dry stack too.

They've owned it for almost 29 years and kept it in a boathouse the entire time. They make the trek north every year for several months. Selling because of age.

I think that it's an efficient boat that would attract former sailboaters, which the owners are, and cruising couples. With a low profile and bilge keels, it's a very stable boat. We've followed them and their boat doesn't roll as much as ours.

It's a great boat, worth the look.
