30’ Willard Vega Searcher

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.

I owned a Willard 30 Searcher, a 1972 Hull #5. I even lived aboard for a while when I broke-up with my then girlfriend. And it's the boat I courted my current mate on 26-years ago. It's a small boat, but mannerly and trustworthy. We cruised within about 50-miles of the Golden Gate Bridge, and as far up the Delta as Sacramento. We had a blast on our Searcher. A ccouple years ago the current owner of my old boat took her from Ventura CA to Olympia WA - a distance of close to 900 nms I'd reckon. Took over a month, but he got her done.

If anyone has any questions on the Willard 30 Searcher, please feel free to reach-out either PM or via this thread. The WIllard Boat Owners Group has been around for about 25-years and we have reams of old files and such. It's a good group of committed owners with a common sense approach to boat ownership.

I own a 1973 Searcher, Hull #15 and completely agree with your assessment.
