Yanmar Engine paint and gelcoat touch up paint

I'm looking for touch up paint for a 2006 Mainship. Top side, It's the off white color. I'm also looking for the gray Yanmar engine paint. I know I have seen topics which covered these but I can't seem to find them.
Thanks Jeff.

I think you will find the top side fiberglass is gelcoat not paint.
Are you looking to paint trim???
Window / door frames or molded deck / cabin roof etc

Bacchus,
I wanted to touch up some nicks in the molded deck. It may be gelcoat? I remember seeing someone that sold a touch up paint or gelcoat.
Thanks Jeff.

I found it.
Mainship, 2000-2008, Antique White Color Boat Gel Coat Patch Paste Repair Kit - Spectrum Color

Boat Manufacturer: Mainship
Years Covered: 2000-2008
Color Family: White
Color Name: Antique White
Container Size: 2 oz Patch Paste Repair Kit
Gel Coat Patch Paste Repair
  • Patch Paste is the factory gel coat color made into an easy-to-use paste
  • Kit includes:
    • 2oz gel coat paste
    • Hardener
    • Easy-to-follow instructions
  • Add hardener, mix thoroughly, apply to damaged area using a putty knife
  • Perfect for cosmetic repairs: small nicks, scratches, drill holes, worn areas
Patch Paste allows an inexperienced person to make professional gel coat repairs. The paste spreads like vaseline, sets in 5-15 minutes, and is ready to sand and buff in an hour.
Spectrum Color uses the latest and most advanced gel coats in the industry for formulating its products. Their products are superior for ease-of-application, cure, sanding and in returning a high-gloss finish when buffed.
Coloring
Colors are a perfect match to the original, new gel coat color. Based on exposure and time, boats older than 5 years may have a slightly noticeable difference in the gel coat color matches. Patch paste kits cannot be altered to match the "tint" of the weathered gel coat color. Tinting is available with quart and gallon sizes.

Thanks Thinback.

I have a 2007 400 and the gel coat is in good shape.
After I wet sanded and buffed the repairs the color was perfect.
The yanmar dealer has the grey spray paint. I don't think they sell brush paint.
I've also seen the spray in ebay

Jeff

One trick I've found useful when doing gel coat touch-up is to get hold of a sheet of the old overhead transparency film and cut a piece oversize for the patch area.
Use masking tape to form a hinge along one side. after you fill the void and scrape any excess away (razor blade held near perpendicular to surface does a fair job for small areas) place the film over the patch and tape over it of the opposite side. The patch takes on the super smooth surface from the film and makes final finishing much easier.
Many /most gel coats need to have air excluded to cure properly - the film accomplishes that as well.

If you have to tint the gel coat to match the boat - especially when aged - a piece of the film makes a great place to mix the gel coat and tint as you can do it on the boat surface and view the mixture with the background you are trying to match after you are satisfied with the match then you can add the catalyst to make it harden.

Thanks Bacchus, good tips. I have four really small nicks that I need to do. Bigger than a match head but smaller than a small finger nail.
