2001 390. Survey returned readings in several areas of gunnels, stairs, transom top and cockpit floor of “moist to very moist”.

Are these areas regularly wet on these boats? How much does it matter? I doubt most of it can be fixed without huge expense.

Most of the decks and stringers were apparently ok.

Just walk away?

The surveyor should have given you some feedback on what the repair costs should be. It can all be fixed, it just takes time and money. How much of each is the question.

Unfortunately he got me the deficiency list only after 4 days later. Said full report will come by 9/16 and I have little faith he’ll get it out on time. Has not shown to be worried about moving the process along.

I’ll have to wait to see the full report.

I always make it part of the agreement that the surveyor will deliver the report the day after the survey or else I find another surveyor. I ask for a verbal immediately after the survey and the written report the next day. I make this clear when I book the survey.
