34 Hard Top Pilot front window

The front center window surround is aluminum, which has paint peeling off.

Has anyone refinished theirs, if so how, and is it possible to remove the whole unit?

I fixed some paint bubbling on mine. Scraped and sanded it down to bare aluminum then coated it with an alodine primer and then sprayed it with a hardware store white paint that matched pretty well.

Total removal would be a chore.
