Having heard from several sources that this was the case (but not believing it), I called their sales department. Apparently Trinidad SR has been discontinued because Pettit got tired of “fighting the Irgarol battle”, as a technical sales rep just told me. They’ve decided to go back to an older, non-Irgarol formulation of the paint and it is available as Trinidad Pro, which used to be available through boatyards only but now will be available everywhere.

This is not the first time Pettit has been forced to drop Irgarol from Trinidad. I can't say I have really noticed the difference between Trinidad with Irgarol or with out however others tell me you don't have to go as fast with Irgarol to get the slime off.
Yes, but this time Pettit has apparently decided to move on from Irgarol entirely, whether it is available as an ingredient or not. But like you, I have never really noticed any difference between any of the various flavor of Trinidad. It has long been one of the two anti fouling paint products I ever recommend and I don't foresee that changing now.

Only in salt water, it will literally fall off in fresh. I am back in Baltimore from cruising Caribbean and need to decide what paint. Hate to take off all the 66, but not sure of compatability with another ablative that will work in fresh/brackish. Any suggestions?

Just looking at the Pettit web site. Their Ultima 60 and Ultima 40 both show Igarol as anti-slime ingredients. Its an ablative paint tho. Anyone have experience with this in S Florida? Lots O critters in our warm summer soup.
