Hey folks, my Ranger tug with the Volvo Penta D3-220 diesel flashed "low boost air pressure" on the display. I was able to clear the message, boat seems to be running great. Any idea what might be going on here?

Thanks

Until you find the cause of the message don't run wide open throttle.
If there is a boost leak your turbo may overspeed and fail suddenly.
To prevent that from happening, an electronically controlled engine
may go into 'limp home mode'.

Could be damaged hose as well. Car dealer used "smoke" at the air intake on my turbo diesel Mercedes that had low boost and high boost. Split hose on a 4 year old car just out of warranty. I was able to run the car at highway speed with the dealers OK. Engine didn't produce full power though. I'm with Knotyet, OK to run at low speed if needed to get to repair or boat ramp.
