I was changing an impeller on my starboard engine and the marker I had for each hose (from seacock) and to engine fell off. I think I have the right hose on the right place on the impeller body but how do I know for sure? My engine is a MerCruiser 454 model 330.
I haven’t started yet but if they are switched what should I look for? Will it hurt the engine right away after starting?

If you've only done one engine, check the other for reference. Otherwise, post a picture of your pumps. If it's the same setup as my 340hp Mercruiser 454s then the hose closer to the center of the engine is the intake, the outer one is output to the coolers.

I’m still kind of new to this. How do you do that? I’ve heard it said before but never really understood how it’s done.
