My AC cooling water flow was less than I remembered from last year. My AC pump is looking a little rusty and since it is 16 years old I decided to PM replace it. While doing this I decided to replace the hoses from the thru hull to the pump.
Bingo!
When I took the hose off the bronze thru hull valve I found a cluster of three or four little clams/Muscles attached to the bronze nipple. The hose was clean. Took a screw driver and broke them loose. Flushed them out by opening the thru hull valve. Now my AC water shoots out twice as far from the side of the hull than it did before.
Yes, I still replaced like pump with a new one.
Happy Days.

Good result. And a good reminder for all of us to check the same area.

Intersting. I always clean out the pickup/stainer outside the hull every spring before the boat is launched. But I never thought to check on the hose side of the seacock valve.

Same thing happened to me on the main engine intake and the generator intake. Here on the southern chesapeake bay we have to clean barnacles and oysters monthly.
