Hi I am new to the Forum, I have just purchased a Grand Banks 32, it has a wooden hull. which need a little work on it but not a lot. I have no idea the age of the vessel but I think it must be of an early model. The boat is at the moment in Spain, My question is the boat obviously had a sail when it was originally constructed which it hasn't got now, what are the merrits of a sail. is it stability or
can it assist in the speed of the boat. would appreciate any advice on this topic

Welcome to the forum!
If it had a sail, it would stability. The mast and boom is more likely for launching the dinghy or bringing a heavy item onboard.
