SALCA line cutter experience anyone?

I have done a bit of research on the SALCA, but I still have some questions about its construction. It appears from advertising that it is a combination of stainless and zinc, but will it continue to be effective as a line cutter once the zinc has left the scene?

Salca is unfortunately not included in the test, but looks slightly like a Plastimo rope cutter, read the test and watch the video test.

The Salca is primarily a shaft anode. The line cutter is a secondary use. It allows you to have a line cutter in a space that won’t allow both a zinc anode and a cutter. You get a new blade each time you replace the zinc anode. If you let the anode waste far enough before replacing it, the blade will probably fall off.

I don’t know how ffective it is as a line cutter but generally the scissor style cutters like Spurs are more effective than disc blades. I’d say disc style are good and scissor style are great.
