Just got back from a week-long sailing charter in Tahiti (which was EPIC!). Actually saw three trawlers/power cruisiers while I was there, including this one on our last night anchored at Raiatea.
After sailing the 45-foot Bali catamaran through 6-7 meter seas on 25-mile passages between islands, I can confidently say any trawler I would take across an ocean would have to be stabilized!
