Albin 40 North Sea Cutter low prices?

Is there a reason why a not that old 40 Albin North Sea Cutter can be had for like $200k??

There are a few from 2006-2008 on YachtWorld. Why the low price? What gives?? Looking at 10 year old 40 footers from other brands and you'll be way over $300k (if not closer to $400k).

Same in New England. I looked at one a couple years ago with Yammar 370hp. ER was way to tight.

The NSC had some issues with leaky windows and some other things. Most of these have been fixed by owners. Nevertheless the reputation keeps them priced way low.

The aft stateroom is interesting in that it's just a size too small to make it a master such as the Sabreline 43. Which, otherwise, looks like the 40 NSC.

Other Albin models, even the NSC 48, were all solidly built and bulletproof.

I posted the question last year but thanks for your response. I had briefly considered the Albin NSC but ended up looking into other planing style hulls over the winter.

I ended up with 2005 Silverton 35 Motoryacht which is set up nicely for my full time liveaboard lifestyle.

The North Sea Cutter is still an interesting design but never really caught on.

Albin 40 or 48 North Sea Cutter

We're big DeFever fans. Had a 2001, 49' DeFever CPMY we lived on board for three years while we cruised the great loop.

Sold it when we got back and bought a 2005, Albin 28 Tournament Express when we moved to Cape Coral, Florida to run around the islands.

We're now looking at an Offshore Yachtfisher (same design as the DeFever CPMY, but much quicker on the water), for our next bigger boat for longer cruises.
