Deck project

This was by far the hardest and most demanding project I ever tackled on Willy T. My initial intention was to "simply" remove the teak, sand and fair the fiberglass and put a few additional layers and call it a day. But it turned out I got more than I bargained for when I realised that not only was core plywood wet to the bone, some of the supporting beams were half rotten. Oh well, might as well tear it all down and build something new right?

Yes, excellent work! Must have been crushing to realize the amount of damage. Excellent repair, properly done. It looks better than new.

Do you intend to add scuppers or deck drains?

By the way, I did the antiskid with Kiwigrip but instead of using their roller, I used a regular paint roller from the hardware store. The final surface is a lot easier on the feet as the peaks are much smaller. It's still a bit difficult to clean but not as much as when you use their roller.
