Hi folks,
I just got the go-ahead from my wife to get a larger boat. Although we really like our current vessel, we would like more room for guests, etc. Today we looked at several boats in the 47+ range, and saw two really nice ones.
The PT52 was in very good shape, a 1988 with low-hour Cats. It does not have AC, a bow thruster, or a water maker, all stuff I can add. It also has SS fuel tanks. The Kha Shing Spindrift had everything - stabilizers, thruster, AC, twin Cats, and lots of other stuff, including about 7' more than I want. It is a 1990, with original steel fuel tanks. We also looked at a Bayliner 4788 in nice shape with Hino motors.
Are there any owners out there of these vessels that might shed some light on them for me? Build quality, things to watch out for, etc. Both boats are priced under $200K, and I am looking more for about $150K as my spending limit.
Thanks for any advice and/or insight to these two boats.
Cheers, Bill
