Blue Seas 36

We have what is referred to in Australia as a 'Blue Seas 36'. They were built in Tiawan during the seventies and eighties. From what I can make out these boats are called Europa 36 in USA and Europe.
We would be keen to join a group if one exists, of owners of these vessels.

We ordered a new 1981 36' Euro style trawler to be built in the Blue Seas yard in Tiawan. It was built under the Marine Trader name. We loved that boat, and it was relatively trouble free.

Welcome to TF. The Blue Seas yard probably made boats under many different brand names which were prevalent at that time. Enjoy the boat.

Interesting Cruiser

An interesting cruiser anchored out front of our home on the Mary River, for a couple of days last weekend.
A quick Google search of the number 44-022 displayed on bow revealed what a colourful past this boat has had.
Built by Fairey Marine, Cowes UK, in 1982. It has a steel hull and based on US Coastguard (USCG) cutter design.
Operated by the Royal National Lifeboat Institute UK, it was called 'The William and Jane' and the principal station was Blyth. Service from 1982 until 1998.
In 1999, it was donated to the Kaikoura Volunteer Coastguard in New Zealand and named 'John Barton Acland Rescue'. Carried the operational number 44-022.
A web site says that the current name is Gryphon with the owners from Hawaii and the boat based in Picton New Zealand.

Wow, so it has crossed the Tasman on its own bottom presumably, although was probably shipped out from the UK. Interesting...
What do you estimate her length at..? The pic suggests about 50-60 feet..?

According to Wikipedia, length is 44'10" (13.67m), beam is 12'8" (3.86m) and draft is 4'2" (1.27m). Other info available.
