@Papafu: Why would you want to 'de member' yourself? Wouldn't you miss the chance to look over the 'hot topic' dujour of ways to divest yourself of cash in the future?

But seriously, go to 'user CP' and Go to list Subscribed threads, go to right side and click the Notifiction 'select all' box on top of the list, then go to bottom drop down box and UNsubscribe from following new posts that you have participated in. After a while you won't get the emails saying 'New response'. Or you could click the NO email notifications also.

I am sure you will be back. Once boating's in your veins and all. Have a good day.

Seriously, however Papafu, even as a mod, if and when my boat sells, I will also be faced with the dilemma, as coming back on here will be a wee bit painful...at least for a while...sweet pain though I think. I'm not sure, but I will probably stay looking in on occasion, even though I'll probably give up modding...or I might not...so I can catch zee dodgy folk like zee Gaston..?

So, to Papafu, my advice, as others suggested...leave the door ajar, just log out, but remember your log back in, and you'd always be welcome...

Papafu, you only get emails on threads you subscribed to. Once they wither on the vine, your inbox should be quiet except if someone revives an old thread.
But if for reasons of privacy or security you don`t like the idea of leaving open an identifier which could be misused, maybe you should sign off. I`m sure Admin can do it if you request,which beats excommunication for a provocative flagrant online sin.
