Not sure if this qualifies as a cruising event, but my father is going to be in town the weekend of October 15th. We are thinking of either cruising way up the Cape Fear River past downtown Wilmington to the convergance of the Black River (I have not been up there yet but hear it is a very nice run with 300 year old cypress trees, black water, wildlife, etc. with deep anchorage) or simply going up and anchoring behind Masonboro Island about a half mile south of the Coast Guard station in WB and maybe having on a bonfire on the beach. Weather needs to be cooling down to hit Black River so bugs are somewhat at bay....I have not joined MTOA yet and don't know who else is in the area, but if anyone reads this and wants to tag along, just let me know. Finally got enough work done to make her livable (if you enjoy camping) on the hook, and need to get her some exercise...
