I am in the process of replacing my 6' wooden mast with a 9' aluminum one with spreaders and a boom, an anemometer (which is plug and play with my Simrad NSE 12), and upgrading the VHF antenna from 8' to 14 1/2'. My problem is finding good mounts for a sailboat type mast for the anemometer and the antenna. I am hoping someone on the forum is familiar with "other" than the standard catalog mounts, some small source with really cool stuff 
I was planning on a standoff on the middle of the VHF antenna close to the top of the mast. The closer to the mast the better. Any ideas?
