Hi all you trawler folk. I joined this forum because we are planning to buy a trawler - getting too rickety for yanking sails up and cranking winches. We are looking for a trawler for a hair under 100K if possible. Prices have gone wild, so it's pushing us to look at older boats, or possibly stretch our limit a bit. Any helpful 'shopping' pointers most welcome. Only constraints we have are no twin engine boats and galley and salon should be on the same level. Cheers, Arthuritis.

Welcome aboard. Good luck with your search.

Yes, welcome to TF, and having once been a sailboater, (downunder we'd call it being a yachtie), I can confirm that trawlering is much less labour intensive. That's when talking about actually being underway. When it comes to maintenance - not so much.

Welcome aboard! And as a former (reformed?) sailor, welcome to "the dark side"...

;)
