    Whats your opinion?

I'll fix that. Out of those 3, I'd go with number 1

Financing options for an older boat

Well, good luck! Hope the survey goes well! And, as all else in this forum, with no pics, it didn't happen!

    Vertigo

A day on the boat in the washing machine called Galveston Bay on a windy day brought out the same thing in my wife. She went to a specialist and was prescribed some exercises that after a few days cleared it up. Now and then when she starts feeling a little dizzy, she does the exercises (for the...

    Hull structural integrity

Pretty sure it's cored.........BUT On further inspection, after removing everything, opening all the hatches in the bed platform, I've found that all of the support for the bed is actually fiberglassed into the inner hull. This tells me that the engineers, architects of the time of the build...

    Hull structural integrity

    Ted. Yes to both.

    Hull structural integrity

The Marine engineer idea has merit. I am just getting a general idea of the feasibility before I commit or not commit to the next step. Thanks.

    Hull structural integrity

Thanks Ted That's what made me think of the question. The structure of the bed platform seems pretty solidly built, as if it might be designed for dual purpose. Yes, I plan on cabinets, shelves, but nothing stretching across the entire space.

    Hull structural integrity

PS Sneed. I appreciate your answer, it seems the only one even attempting to address the question I asked. As far as hatch openings in the bed platform, they're already there, just a pia to get in and out of all the time..that's what I'm trying to fix. As far as weight distribution, I don't...

    Hull structural integrity

Because that's not my plan. I'm looking for an answer to a specific question.

    Hull structural integrity

Ok, all you smart boat builder types: I have a Luhrs Mainship 40DC. I want to basically gut the forward cabin, removing the platform the bed is made on...here's the question. Does that platform also perform double duty by strengthening and adding rigidity to the bow, or is it just a bed? Plan is...

    Raymarine C-80 issues

Well..after repairing the intermittent fade out of my screen, it now appears that it won't read any of my chart cards. A West Marine salesman suggested that it might need updating. Any suggestions? If update is necessary, where and what kind of cable do I need to hook my puter to it? What is...

    Perkins volt meter guage needed

Please don't over think it. If you need to replace the gauge, any 12 volt meter that fits in the hole will work. Auto gauges come in various but similar sizes, ie" 1", 1.5", 2", up to about 6"....just figure out what yours is. I would make sure you have power to the wires first however.

    Suckerfish to your boat

Haven't you realized yet that it's "All about me"? Don't want to start a rant, but the people that only think of themselves kinda get on my nerves. I'm referring to the kayaker of course. He is aware of only the fun he is having, not in any way concerned with what you are trying to do, your...

    Engine installation on 40ft DeFever

You're doing almost exactly what a commercial vendor did to remove/replace my Perkins in my mainship...Although a bit unnerving, it all went as planned..Good luck!

    Mainship?

You're not missing anything....Mainship is a quality utilitarian boat, simple as that. It just doesn't have the "status" of the others. I have a 1985 Luhrs Mainship....we LOVE IT!

    Wanted: Raymarine C-80 monitor

Well...the operation was a SUCCESS! There is a bit more to it than just "popping off the case", lol, but we got er done! Found a tiny dent in the ribbon cable that indicated what to trim. Got that done, seated the cable, put it all back together. When I hit the power button, instant display...

Lookin for a Live-Aboard and Friends

Getting a boat pimp is a good idea, just for his access to boats, but remember, he or she works for the seller and on commission. I'd also go to yacht world, set your parameters and every couple of weeks they'll send you boats that fit the criteria. As far as loans, be prepared. It's tough to...

    Wanted: Raymarine C-80 monitor

Desparation However, in a case of desperation, I smacked it just above the top of the screen and VOILA! No lines, good display. Sounds to me as though it's a connector in the display? Fortunately, my son his gonna visit from Memphis today. He is a USCG Et 2nd class. The CG doesn't use this...

Called him. He told me the monitor is toast. I might have a better response if I take it to him.

    Wanted: Raymarine C-80 monitor

That may be the problem as it is intermittent. I fired the monitor up the day after you replied and let it run 2 days. No lines, good image. Fired it up today and lines, no image. Squeezing has no effect. I'm officially confused, lol.
