    Can you identify these doors?

My cabin doors are quite sturdy and waterproof, with an articulated hinge that folds the door back to the outside cabin wall. I am having a bit of a problem with one that needs adjustment, but I cannot find any guidance. What type of design is this, and where would you look for guidance...

    Dog relief while underway

I have a patch of artificial grass placed on the bow near the anchor wash down. Also have a small rope attached to it for washing overboard. Prior to putting on the boat we kept it in the back yard for a few months. We have two 45 pound mutts and were only able to get them to use it one time...

    Marine Strip

I use a mechanics hand cleaner like gojo with pumice and a scotch Brite pad. Worked better than marine strip for me.

Engine alarm just paid for itself

Of all the alarms that are useful, the raw water alarm is the most essential.

    WeGoLook.com, anyone have comments

When I was serious about a boat long distance I asked a surveyor to take a quick look at it for 1/4 of his fee. I eventually did buy the boat and he applied what I had already paid to his normal fee

    When to replace dinghy motor?

Lol, note the dollars already spent on the four stroke. Time for a two stroke particularly if cursing in remote areas. i

    When to replace dinghy motor?

I like yamaha or suzuki. For a dinghy I would also look for a two stroke as anyone, anywhere can work on them.

    Mariner Yachts

2004 Mariner 38 here Wanted a 40 but settled on a 38 because of a great price at the time. The size difference is all in the cockpit depth. Other than that they are identical.

    Balmar Smartguage

I read the Smartgauge manual where it says to wire directly to the battery posts. My house battery bank consists of two 8D's which are only paralled together via the 1-2-ALL switch. All of the batteries' neg posts are wired together (incl. a separate eng start batt), but not the positives. What...

    New Golf cart batteries

Thank you for the thoughts, I am still trying to figure out how it is all wired. Each battery 1, 2 and the generator battery are connected to three different poles on the charger so conceivably each should be managed separately by the charger. But I also understand if one of the three is weak...

    New Golf cart batteries

I am a new trawler owner and presently wired with two 8D on a perko 1, 2 or all switch as house batteries, they are also wired in as the starting battery for a cummins 6B turbo. I don't really know the age of the batteries. I have a completely separate starting battery for the generator...

Looking for a forward window slide & lock

Lots of searching and have found nothing long or robust enough. The dash is about 36 inches in depth and sits directly over tHe center companionway. To reach any windshield adjuster I have to lean over the companionway to operate it so I need it around 36 inches long to operate it easily...

New to me trawler owner here

Greetings, Have been lurking for quite a while and joined the board today. I recently purchased a 38 foot single diesel Mariner trawler. Bought the boat in baltimore and brought it down last November. I have owned many boats both sail and power, but this in my first trawler. As many before...

Looking for a forward window slide & lock

Yep, that's it, a windshield adjuster. Thank you. Now to find a long one. The best I have found thus far is a perko 12 inch bar that extends to 21. I need at least a 24 inch bar with the window closed in order to reach it.

Looking for a forward window slide & lock

Greetings, Just purchased a trawler and the front center window sits far forward. Actually have to climb up on the the chart table to get to the window to open or close. I am looking for a forward window slide and lock mechanism to remotely open and close the window. I have seen them all...
