    Perkins 6.354M valve clearance discrepancy

    The shop manual specifies .012" all valves clearance with a cold engine. The handbook specifies .008" intake and .018" exhaust valve clearance with engine hot or cold. Which is right?

    engine room cooling

    After a day cruising to an anchorage the engine room gets hot and give off heat all night, comfortable in October but not in July. Any ideas on how to cool the engine room in the summer months?
