    Interesting boats

This boat is very impressive. If I was 20 years (make that 40 years) younger I would be on it. First point it is FIBERGLASS. Why has owner neglected it? He died! My kind of boat.

    Cat aboard?

Smart cat I knew a guy on a small sailboat who had a large unfixed tomcat. If anchored out near shore the tom would swim ashore for a night on the town. But in the morning he would sit on shore yowling until he rowed ashore and pick him up. Who ever said cars are dumb.

anchor My boat was a heavy 42' steel boat and my windlass was a Maxwell hydraulic. approaching the anchorage under autopilot I would go to the bow and position the anchor (66# Bruce 200' 1/2" chain) so it was ready to drop. Dauntless through the Panama Canal

"They said the crew conditions on the South Korean boats were basically slave labor for all but ships officers. " At one time I saw the crew off a Korean fishing boat all lined up on the dock with the captain screaming at them. He the proceeded down the line with them bent over and him hitting...

    Dauntless through the Panama Canal

"I have never understood why he did this with a power boat. He has more rigging on that boat for his stabilizing fins than we ever had on a sailboat. So if he has to play with all that rigging why not do it in a sailboat, save the money for diesel and enjoy the lack of 24/7 engine noise. Just...

New to me 50, Steel full displacement, engine questions

Do you have dry stack? I had a salt water cooled dry stack and when I left her on the hard for an extended time I removed the impeller and just had someone run the engine until it came up to operating temp. and then shut her down. At one time it was on the hard for a year. Came back put her in...

    long range Willard?

I am seriously considering trying to equip a Willard 30 for long range cruising. Remove flying bridge and adding 250 gal. of fuel. Any idea what effect that would be on performance and draft. Would this be OK. There are a lot of people here who know these boats and could you please give me your...

    Ferro Cement Boat

55' ferro I only know it was for sale then and it was in water. If you are not using it is is much cheaper sitting on the hard than paying for a 60' slip. I have looked all over the net for more information and found nothing. The add is still up for it at $125000.
