    1985 double Cabin manual

Max- I believe I have the owner's manual (including a nifty canvas case for it!) for my '88 DC 36' from the PO. Unfortunately, the document is of little help with anything specific from Mainship regarding systems. Included were some manuals for the stove, etc. I'll bet that there was no other...

    Replacement Air Conditioner

Tony- Many thanks for the information. This jibes with advice I got from the Yahoo Mainship group a couple of years ago. Two 16s seems to be the ticket. My slip shore power is only a single 30 amp that I split to both circuits. Both units running will be at about 24 amps, cutting it a bit...

    Replacement Air Conditioner

Tony- I've got an '88 dc w/o AC. Mind if I ask where the units are installed, what sizes serving what spaces and where the thru hulls are located? Thanks for any information. Love the boat. -Rick

    Boat mattress's are expensive

Former owner of our 36' Mainship DC rebuilt the aft bed platform and port cabinets to handle a standard queen. How they got it down there, I don't know. It isn't tapered at the foot and there is a loss of floor space. But the mattress is wonderful!

    Backward Compatible Transducer Question

I have an Interphase 20/20 fish finder, depth, temp and speed box from the late '80s/early '90s. *It is connected to a thru hull transducer that I'm having a heck of a time getting a manufacturer or part number off of. *The Interphase box manual says it uses a 200k Hz transducer. *All works fine...

    Mainship 36

Oops! *Not paying enough attention to editing....... * The hull is "semi-displacement" which, of course, means it does neither displacement or planing very well. *The origional specs at at*http://www.mainship.com/models/previous_models/36dc.htm I'm new to this boat, still, but I find the...

    Mainship 36

Haven't done the math on ours but I've been told that the blue 270's run about 6 gph per engine under 3,000 to 3,200K rpm (at which rpm the secondaries open up). *I'll get up to around 9-10 knts at just under 20,000K rpm. *The boat feels like the sweet spot is around 1,800 rpm. *When the...

    Mainship 36 Aft Cabin

We bought an '88 aft cabin two years ago. *We've put about 40 hours on her so far without any serious problems beyond the usual house water pump replacement, etc. sorts of things. *She had just under 500 fresh water hours on her and very clean engines and bildge with good compression tests. The...
