    Shower Drain Hose Replacement

Tub drain access Tub access I cut in to get to the old drain hose and tail piece. I got a nice matching plate to screw in place to cover the hole (for next time -- not me) :thumb:

Do you Flush? How Often? With What?

I just went thru this myself on my FL120. Since the exchanger is so easy to remove and clean I will likely do as a matter of maintenance in the future. I too had hard deposits and a lot of rust from the metal tube that it connects to on the starboard side. I capped the end and filled the...

    Shower Drain Hose Replacement

Lo and behold I finally got to the bottom of the tub. My tub in fact does have a threaded retainer on the drain. Whom ever attached the hose to the tub tail piece used some sort of adhesive and clamped it. (dirty sob). The rubber hose was brittle enough to brake off. I then used a razor knife...

    Shower Drain Hose Replacement

Tub Drain I looked and pryed on the drain and it seems pretty attached. I decided to buy an 8" screw down deck plate since regular access isn't necessary. I will cut in an access hole to replace the hose then screw the deck plate in place when I'm done. Beats the heck out of tearing up the...

Battery Charger Update -- I warmed the transformer in the over for about an hour on low heat. I then thoroughly saturated the windings and core with shellac. Re-installed the transformer into the case, hooked up the wires and put power to it. The transformer was substantially quieter. Quiet...

Yes it is. It is the original shaft. A (bad) section was cut out and the replaced by a new section a coupling at either end. What remains is solid.

    Shower Drain Hose Replacement

I am fortunate that I have an access door in the floor of the head that is right on top if the box and all the wiring is right there too.

    Shower Drain Hose Replacement

MY box is inside the stringers and the hose runs over to the tub on the other side. It would appear I have to lift the tub..... not happy about what I'm seeing so far. Pappy Chris

    Shower Drain Hose Replacement

Has anyone had the luxury of replacing the tub drain hose in the aft cabin head? My drain hose dumps into a water collection box that has a pump and float switch to pump overboard. I was checking hoses yesterday and the drain hose crumbled. Grrrrr. Looks like a tuff job for such a menial issue...

    Tank Pump Out

My chart gps/plotter program shows me radar rings out from the current location. You can set them at given distances (1 mile rings in my case). As long as I am off shore 3 rings I should be safe .... maybe.

New Coupler I built a new steering shaft coupler that clamps harder. I have about 10 hours cruising and there are no problems evident. Pappy Chris

Next fiasco is the drain hose from the tub in the aft cabin. I took a shower last night and before I left today I check the pump in the shower water box. Not working. I picked up the hose that drains the tub into the box and it crumbled.... PMO!!! I can see this will be some huge project for...

Skunky I used Clorox. Even bleached things white again. Not a smell evident even after sitting closed a week. Now I put some down there for maintenance time to time.

    Re-plumbing

I have a similar symptom that was traced to a leaking TP valve on the HW tank. It's been there a long time and I am afraid that I will be replacing a HW heater. It drips into the bottom of the bilge so no harm with that..... for now. Pappy Chris

tank-age My aft tank is to the starboard tucked in just behind the fuel tank. The hose runs to the forward end of the ER on that side. The PO(s) had mickey moused in a macerator and a Y valve. Strangely the macerator only pumped the front tank overboard. I am going to replumb this whole mess...

Buzzy battery charger The shellac seems to have quieted the transformer. I did determine that the capacitors were buzzing too. I obtained new caps at Granger for $15. I've bench tested it and all looks good. I plan to re-install it this week. It is a Guest 55A -4 bank battery charger. All is...

Waste tank Wellllllllllll I have not yet. I got the tank empty and taped the lid shut on the head. Been working on a dozen or so other projects. I'm preparing for and weekend out for Memorial day. I have been able to measure it and I am going to replace it with a similar size (or slightly...
