    Length of Gear/Throttle Cable

I have a 2000 Camano Troll - What is the length of the gear & throttle cable going from the upper helm to the lower helm? There is usually a length marked on the cable but I can't seem to locate it. (The picture is of the lower helm but the controls are the same)

    Dripless shaft seal?

Same here. I have had quite a few boats, some smaller, some larger, this is my favorite.

    Dripless shaft seal?

The Dory, I’ll bet that is the access. I actually had another Camano Owner tell me he had what looked like a “factory” access in the Lazzarette. Good thing to have. You must really be skinny & nimble to access that bilge pump LOL.

    Dripless shaft seal?

Shaft Seal Replacement The Dory, I too have a genset over the shaft seal. I fretted about having to repair or replace it, it was impossible to get to which is probably why no one attempted it. It had been leaking for awhile. Creating an access is pretty easy with some careful planning and a...

I ended up going a different route... Instrument Panel - "What's going on down there?"

    Dripless shaft seal?

JHANCE, Curious, do you have direct access to the seal? I had to cut an access in the Lazarette since there is a genset over my shaft.

    Gauges

Knotyet I have confirmed they are VDO (see photos) So are all VDO sensors the same, assuming I stay within the gauge parameters, i.e. Temp: 100 - 250 Oil: 0 - 150

    Gauges

Thanks, Also, If I replace the gauges on the flybridge & senders, how does that affect the lower helm gauges not being replaced?
  18. Chrisaensing

    Gauges

I would like to replace the gauges in my flybridge (not Tach, just OIL/TEMP/VOLT) - 2000 Camano 31 with 200 HP Volvo TAMD41-P Volvo doesn't sell the gauges only the entire instrument panel. Question: Will VDO Gauges work or will I have to replace the senders too?

    Dripless shaft seal?

NO, there is no spare seal on there. It would be in a plastic carrier on the shaft. The bellows for this type of seal is not adjustable (as far as I know). The front of the seal (pentagon shape) has removable screws. Inside is the seal.

    Dripless shaft seal?

Seal Jhance, I noticed that the old Tides Marine Seal, I believe called "Strong Seal" had a more robust design and that the seal was more like a Cutless Bearing. The Cutless Bearing type was not replaceable without replacing the entire unit including the bellows. There wasn't a spare in front...

What is this connector? (see attachment)

The Gauge This looks like the gauge that would connect. I was curious to see & I have the same connector on my lower station panel. Seems it runs to the control box on the engine, assume from there you would have to place the sensors to the gear & turbo?

What is this connector? (see attachment)

I gave you the wrong page TTT, Look at this page. I pulled the wrong one last time. It shows a Blue/Black & Blue Yellow = #18 which is the connector for Turbo/Reverse Gear

    Dripless shaft seal?

Shaft Seal Mine was an original from 2000. When I got the boat (2019) it had almost 3000 hours on it and leaking. The original "Strong Seal" was made WAY better than the new. My opinion is I would inspect the seal, especially the bellows, keep an eye on it. If it is as old as mine, replace it...
