    Maxwell's HRC FF 8 - thoughts?

Hi, Installed that windlass on my prior boat, a 43' Pearson Portsmouth. Had 25' of chain and 150' of 5/8 3 strand nylon. Windlass worked flawlessly for the 3 years I owned the boat. Only negative is the chain stripper is a thin piece of plastic that immediately broke. Never replaced it as...

    Seapiper 35 Update

Happy New Year everyone. It's been quite a while since my last post. From my last post until haul out last October, I got just about everything I hoped to accomplish done. The new enclosure was completed. The workmanship was fantastic. Structure is 1-1/4" stainless tubing and built more...

    Grey Ghost's New Enclosure

Kit_L, good morning. Just confirmed your original link to Kiwi, as well as the one I sent you, both work on my computer. Must be something blocking your access on your system. I just discovered that the original Seapiper site is gone. The enclosure and a bimini set up was offered on that...

    Grey Ghost's New Enclosure

Hi Kit L, Herman showed his enclosure to Ritzo, who asked him for approval to use it, which he granted. I also asked Herman for approval to use it, which he granted, as well as linking me to loads of photos he took during the fabrication of his enclosure. Mine is constructed more like a bimini...

    Grey Ghost's New Enclosure

Hello All, Many thanks to Herman, the owner of "Kiwi", hull #5 of the Seapiper 35 line, for all the info and photos he provided me with to design the enclosure for the center cockpit area. Final install was today, and here are some photos. This was constructed of 1-1/4" stainless tubing in a...

    Seapiper 35 Update

Hello again everyone, I've been quite busy the past several weeks fixing and cleaning Grey Ghost. The list seemed endless, but I've made great progress and am pretty much finishing up a few items and modifications. I've replaced the Vetus hatch over the pilothouse dinette, along with the...

    Seapiper 35 Update

Agree 1000% with DDW. I'm spending days going over every inch and tightening loose screws, etc. Reinstalling the entrance hatches at the aft end of the pilot house and the entrance to the forward cabin. These hatches are very will built and quite heavy and only two hinges holding them. These...

    Seapiper 35 Update

Hello again, This past Sunday, July 23, I moved the boat from Bayshore, on the south shore of Long Island in the Great South Bay, to a temporary slip at my old yacht club in East Rockaway. This is about a 30 mile trip, and one I've done numerous times in the past when going east or to Fire...

    Seapiper 35 Update

Hello Joe, First let me say thank goodness you were not seriously injured in the explosion. Secondly, my sincerest apologies to you for what appeared to be me insinuating you were involved in any "hanky panky". I was surprised that the boat had been totalled as well. I have seen instances...

    Krogen 61

If you look at the email address it's related to the US Merchant Marine Academy on the north shore of Long Island. Yet when I went to that site, that vessel was not shown as for sale anywhere. Could have been sold by now

Also, if the bracket holding the solenoid has some play in it, position the solenoid so that the shaft moves in and out without binding anywhere before tightening it down.
