    Outboard powered

It was extended with the engine conversion, so longer means more fuel efficient, usually.

    Murder City

If you remove drug related crime and self deletions from the gun stats, it's a non-starter. More people drown in their own swimming pools than gun deaths.

    Electric Boats

production electric boats Being in Central Florida, I know that Nautique has a ski boat that's 100% electric and they have now started a secondary company called Ingenity to build all electric boats. https://ingenityelectric.com/ The downside is that they only run 2-4 hours on a charge....

    Why not pex everywhere?

PEX is not UV stable, so keep it out of the sun! No PEX tubing is rated for use when sun or other UV sources can damage it... It gets brittle quickly with UV exposure. If you want to bend pex in unique shapes, use pex al pex products which is a layer of aluminum tubing with pex on the inside...

    Rewiring the whole boat

Brother has a laminated label maker that includes a flag option so the text is written twice and you fold it over the wide and stick the label to itself. Since it is laminated, there is a clear tape over the printing to prevent fading and smudging. I used zip ties with tabs on them once, but...

    Rewiring the whole boat

Toe Nail snippers trim off the ends of Zip ties and don't leave a sharp edge. You won't get cut or get wiring insulation faults caused by sharp zip tie ends...

Rules of the Road Ruling Needed

The downbound power boat has right of way, if the current was from your stern, you have right of way, and up current is the give way vessel.

$20 to dock your dinghy for dinner.

At some point, the restaurant will either do a voucher system to validate dinghy parking and a negotiated rate with the marina, or perhaps offer a pickup / drop off service for dinner guests... Sort of a dinghy uber service for their patrons.

Mainship 400 Starboard Fuel Tank Leaking

That hole almost looks drilled! Perhaps it had been there all along, and the cushion material sealed the hole... for a while. Poultice corrosion does not look like that, and would be more general, pitting the area rather than one single round hole.

    Interesting boats

There are engine hatches just inside the salo[o]n which seems almost centered in the boat... Besides, it's wood, cut wherever you need to cut... You can always glue it back :)

    Interesting boats

Apparently, the voodoo has a foil between the hulls to lift the majority of the boat out of the water, allowing it to go faster and be more efficient at speed. I'd like to see a photo of it on a travellift.

Want to add heater for this winter

An RV'er in Australia did a good review of a bunch of diesel heaters and found the 8kw heaters didn't do any better than a 5kw heater, and if you take them apart, you'll find the same parts... so the 8kw is simply marketing lies. He also compared them against espar and found them incompatible...

What is this strange tool for?

Some DVR or radios had quite close together BNC terminals, and it's hard to push down on the outer ring of the bnc and give it a quarter turn to lock or unlock a BNC connector. Especially if there is a neighboring BNC 1/4" away from the one you're working on. The BNC tool has a slot down the...

It says the hull is fiberglass, but.... one of the images appears to have wooden stringers and wooden planking just aft of the anchor locker. Maybe it is fiberglass over wood?

    Autopilot for a trawler

Duracell batteries are about the worst batteries you can put in a device. If possible, install lithium batteries instead of alkaline since lithium batteries will never leak and damage the device. Alkaline batteries always leak, often before they die. Duracell has a warranty to protect you...

    Interesting boats

Did you notice how the rudders are not balanced? I would hope there is power steering or at least hydraulic steering to help you keep it under control. Most boat rudders have 15-20 percent of the rudder blade forward of the pivot pin, making it easier to steer. Without that balance part, it...
