Keith , thanks so much for you and your co workers. This area hasn't ever seen the devastating effects of a storm like Sandy so many people were caught unprepared. But like other parts of this great country we are strong of heart and mind, and will rebuild.

Just wanted to let you all know that while I'm not a boat owner, many of the things I've learned while reading TF, have helped me in my 5 days (so far) of no power post Sandy. Things like alternating watch hours between my wife and I during the height of the storm, to Generator power...

I sure hope not (in answer to OP) as I'm looking at 35-40 foot trawler style boats for my first owned boat.

CP, Thanks for your reply. I agree with you, although more and more marinas are being secured and for good reason, which is why if I'm near a few marinas and have some time to walk the docks I post a note on the off chance that there is someone nearby. hope everyone is having a nice memorial...

Any trawler owner in Bradenton Area care to show off their boat to a dreamer? I'm down here for a few days with my 2 young daughters visiting my mother-in-law. I'm going to try and walk the docks near the bridge across the Manatee River and get away for an hour. Grant A some day sooner...

Could someone explain to me (a real rookie when it comes to engines) why 2 stroke vs 4 stroke is desired? I have only 4 stroke tools at home (mower, chipper, snowblower) and know that the oil and fuel are separate systems. thanks, scarletbison

SD, I've never heard of that, about tunnels. Why is it only open on the hour, what happens the rest of the time? Admittedly, My tunnel experience is mostly limited to the Lincoln and Holland, going from NJ to New York City, as well as the Harbor Tunnels in Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay...
