When arriving at a town or destination what do you enjoy doing?

Not entirely true. There's a joint called Ryan's in Cocoa Village that's actually pretty good, and is walking distance from Cocoa Village Marina, right on the ICW. It's not NY pizza by any means, but it beats anything in a box.

For Sale: 1983 Defever 49' Raised Pilot House

If I wasn't "allergic" to brightwork and teak decks, I'd be all over it. The 6' draft is a bit much for the ICW, as well. Perfect boat for the PNW, though.

    Bahama Dreams

Take a look at Meridians. Not a "trawler", but otherwise would probably meet your needs. 2006 and later get you common rail QSBs. By the time you're ready to buy, they'll probably be in your price range. There are a few in your price range right now. Easy and relatively cheap to run at hull...

    Finally Heading South

Not sure if anyone told you, but there's a new ICW tax in FL, between Merritt Island and Vero Beach. It involves picking me up at Cocoa Village Marina in MI, and dropping me in Vero

Time For The First Mate Not To Be The Anode

There were often raised voices on our boat whilst docking, with good reason. My Mate has hearing issues (sometimes selective, most often not :hide:) that necessitated some volume on occasion. The physical infirmities (hers & mine) are part of what's holding me back buying another boat. I'd hate...

    Interesting boats

Some Cape Horns (not sure how many) were built by Custom Steel Boats in Merritt, NC (near New Bern). Great yard, and lovely people. To recover after their family tragedy a number of years ago is a testament.

For Sale: 47' Cheoy Lee Seamaster LRC

I have recently (last November) been on this boat, and met the seller. It's everything he says it is. Unfortunately, it just wasn't the boat for us. If you're seriously in the market, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Liveaboard in Florida, 3-4 mo in winter

There is a 2006 Albin here in Cocoa Beach. The asking is more than you're looking to spend, but it's a "later model", with not too many hours (420) on twin Yanmars. If I were to hazard a guess (and it is just a guess), this might be had for mid $130s. No bow thruster, though, that I could see...

    Seattle 12/28 fuel prices

Get ready for sticker shock when you hit FL. This thread prompted me to do a quick search. I didn't find any less than $2.00, and most are in the $2.30-$2.50 range. I suppose I shouldn't complain, since I also remember the days of $4.00+.

    berth width...what would you do

Nor do I. It was a rude awakening coming to FL after years of being spoiled in CA with full length fingers on both sides. Then you get the marinas here that are not only double berths, but the one finger you do get is ridiculously short and narrow. This is what is making me avoid Harbortown in...

Making do with a small cockpit

Miller Lite is redundant  OP should have borrowed Baker's line handling eye candy for the photo. Just sayin' :whistling:

    Financing.....

If you can solve this, you'll be a very rich man/woman. I spent hours crunching numbers last night, and have reached the conclusion that we just can't responsibly afford "the one". Not if we don't sell the house and live on it. The Admiral isn't ready to do that at this time. It's hell to be...
