Heating/Air Conditioning tripping marina shore power pedestal breaker.

Happened to us when we pulled into Marathon Marina in the Keys. They had just redone all of their pedestals. Their electrician said almost every boat tripped them at first and almost all of them turned out to be how the inverter was wired. I checked our inverter manual and there was actually...

    Generator noise cage re-insulation

We relined our generator enclosure with this and the difference was amazing! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073RLZPJ7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So uh… I found a dead body in a river yesterday.

Some days don't go as planned. You certainly had a stressful one. Worth remembering that the man in the water had a worse day. (not being flippant or callous) No doubt his family appreciates the notification and recovery.

Out cruising - raw water leak in FL120 oil cooler

That's really the best plan, though I would have been tempted to head home and do the repairs there. The leak is minimal but they don't get better.

    How to determine your limits...

In the past, I have sometimes hired a professional to observe and guide while I did something critical to prevent a major mistake and so I could learn to do it right. Just a thought.

    Cellular wi fi hot spot

We used an ATT hotspot for a couple of years. The deal with the ATT hotspot is unlimited data but they MAY throttle you down during peak traffic times in congested areas. Since we really weren't in congested areas, they never slowed us down. My wife could watch TV while I was on a video...

    Volvo ??

I avoided Volvos but eventually found out “otherwise perfect” boat and it had TAMD 72s. A couple of minor parts needed to be replaced but they were made by Siemens and Bosch and were readily available. There is a top notch Volvo technician locally but I never really needed him. The most...

I don't disagree with seevee in the least. If this will be of any help, there is a pdf link on my website (linked with permission of the author) that walks through the entire process of calculating your burn rate. http://uscgcaptain.johneasley.com/FeelTheBurn_TheFuelConsumptionEquation.pdf
