Gentlemen I appreciate all the help and info. I can't get the zinc residue out after the zinc post breaks off the brass plug I screw the plug back hoping the zinc will eventually dissolve and I can put a new zinc in. My question is will I still get protection during this period any thoughts

I changed my engine zincs today and several times the zinc anode broke off from the brass plug as I was removing. Am I using inferior zincs? How do you get out the zinc residue? thanks

gentlemen the group 8d batteries on my 34 Mainship trawler are failing and need to be replaced the original batteries are gel cels and cost over $1000/each. I may not keep the ship a long time further and don't really want to spent that amount. I wondered about using new flooded type...

I have a Mainship 34 trawler. The green rubber bladder on the dripless seal burst and water leaks into the boat. can this be fixed without pulling the boat out of the water. I live in southwest Florida would you know who can do this type work. any other advise is appreciated. Regards

I have a 34 Mainship trawler.I got stuck in soft bottom yesterday tryed to get out but failed. Sea Tow had to haul me out. Ran the boat to check..... Starboard Engine ran good but found my Port Engine had Vibration that started at 22000rpm and ended at 24000rpm. Never had any vibrations issues...

I have a 34ft mainship trawler with twin yanmars. I flush both emgins with fresh water after use with connection piping. my question is should I leave the main raw water thru valves open or close after I flush. Leaving them open would be most convenient but I'm thinking closeing them to lock...

Thanks people Great advise from all....I was able to remove two of them with needle nose pliers The other one I punched in part and gentlely filed the side to allow me to get the new zink in. too much of a problem taking exchanger cap off to remove the used zinc part....hope it disintigrates and...

My friend who also owns a Mainship puts Bromine Taps in the Raw water strainer bowl for both his AC and Generator strainers. He think it could cut down on potential growth in the cool system lines. What do you think. To me I would think it would make little difference??
