The 12.9" iPads can be purchased used or refurb. Cheap, big screen.

Not live aboard but staying overnight more. We have an ABYC propane locker properly vented. Every time we’re done with the cooktop, I shut the gas off at the bottle under the cowl of the flybridge. I’m OCD. Everything is tight. Shutting off after every use necessary?

Still - there is a lot of open water in the picture. Somebody wasn't watching what they were doing, and probably both of them. I'm surprised that no one was killed.
