    St. Marys, GA Cruisers Thanksgiving

The St. Marys Cruisers event is ON this year. We'll arrive in the anchorage tomorrow. There will likely be a much smaller group than in years past. https://www.riverviewhotelstmarys.com/node/12868 The coordinator would like to receive an RSVP from anyone who plans to attend the dinner. I can...

    Anchor Chain Noise

We seem to get noise only when the boat changes position and the chain that is lying on the bottom has crossed over itself. If the boat reverses and pulls the chain off itself, the noise goes away. If we get tired of hearing it, we could start the engine and pull the chain straight. This gets...

    Taking the Plunge

Excited for you! The best part is the camaraderie of fellow cruisers. We've been living on our trawler since 2005, previously on a sailboat, cruising mostly FL, Gulf Coast, Bahamas, some East Coast and North, and have made so many friends along the way. If we can help in anyway, don't hesitate...

    Anchor locker revelation

As to your rode's unsecured bitter end, bend on a rod of some sort, long enough that it won't slip through the chain pipe. Should the bitter end of the rope attempt to go through the chain pipe, this rod or stick or piece of wood, sitting sideways, will stop at the underside of the chain pipe...
