Just installed. Now I have to take it down to paint the bulkhead behind it.

Skipper Dude,
You mean you can extract your oil without going up and down w your hand? It's a push button world eh?

Yes siree Bob,

All I have to do is open a valve and pump the oil out the bottom of the engine or trans. Then reverse the pump and pump the new oil right back in.

All I need is a bucket. everything else is set to go.

Greetings,
From what little I know about Alaska, going up and down with your hand is something else entirely....

Skipperdude, Nice job. Is that a Groco vane pump? What is the empty spot on the manifold for?

We mounted an old aircraft hand fuel pump on the engine .

As our DD is more than 5 gal , it takes 2 pails to capture the hot oil .

Not much work to fill 3- 4 gal , swop pails and keep pumping.

No danger of an accidental dry engine , full of oil bilge with a rotary HAND pump.

That pump should be mounted with the pump down or horizontal.

As is, a leaky seal will fill the motor and you won't know about it until it is too late.
