Uniden UM525 VHF

If you need a new VHF, this might be worth checking out on ebay. I wanted a new radio with a hailer and pre programmed fog signals. $159 plus tax, free shipping, pretty good deal. I am not sure if he charges tax for everyone or just because he is located in TX and I am also.

This looks like a pretty good deal.* NexTag had one seller for $157 + shipping, but a half dozen others I checked with were all more; some as high as $200 + shipping.

I need another VHF, so the timing was right.

The new radio has a hailer with fog horn signals, the fog horn has adjustable frequency 200HZ to 850HZ. I have looked in the manual and online in various places trying to figure out what the correct frequency is to use, got any ideas???

Go on one of the sites for folks that make signaling devices for vessels and they will explain the freq required.

Kettenburg should have it . but basically the lower the freq the bigger the boat.

200cps would be for a carrier.
