Chestertown Marina is very close to downtown. It is an easy walk. It's a great town to walk in the evenings. The restaurant at the marina had great crab bisque. It has been rebuilt after being flooded. I;m not certain if it is under the same management. There was a good breakfast place in town. I can't remember the names of the establishments. You can also anchor in the river and dinghy ashore. Chestertown is a great stop. Enjoy!

Watch the current in the marina. It can run through there at a pretty good clip. Try to get a slip you can head into or back into (according to how you dock) the current.

Forgot to mention that the docks could use some maintenance when we were last there. Hopefully, they have taken care of a little upgrade.

Haven't been there in several years, but our favorite part was the trip itself. It is a beautiful river. take your time and enjoy it.

Forgot to mention the no wake zone in the area of Rolphs Wharf or there abouts. Cut it back to absolutely no wake. I have seen people ticketed there.

We haven't been there yet but it's on our list. We were hoping to do it this year but it's slipping away from us. We have anchored in Little Queenstown Creek before which is great - close to the mouth of the Chester River. You get beautiful sunsets at the channel entrance looking west over Kent Island, there's a small public dock you can tie the dinghy to and walk to town or to the outlets, and there's a dumpster there to get your garbage off the boat.

Definitely let us know how the trip goes, as I will be interested to help us plan our trip in the future.

Well it was fantastic. The scenery up and down the river was so UNSPOILED. Beautiful homes and farms line both sides, no development, not a single condo or factory. It was breathtaking. I'm sure it will be even better in September when not so hot. Don't let the season end without going.

The marina (Chestertown Marina) was small but had plenty of room. We've found that everywhere this summer, the economy is killing the marina business. There is a restaurant that over looks the marina, we didn't try it but it seemed popular. The wharf along the front of the restaurant is roped off because it is collapsing into the marina. The slips were good tho' and it is only a block to downtown which was so pretty. We ate at the Imperial Hotel and it was so good... atmosphere, service and food. The have a heirloom tomato salad topped with warm brie in phylo... yummm.

It was a full moon and the high tides were huge, covering the dock.

Back when you could get an overnight slip with power for $1.25 to $1.75 it was not too bad. Now it will cost you $2-$2.75 plus $10-$15 per cord. Spending $100 plus a night is just not in our budget. We did break down and grab a mooring in Annapolis this weekend.

Sorry to hear about the breakdown, hope it was an easy fix. We have 2 giant idiot dogs so we do marinas for now.

Not to bad it it was a 2 inch raw water hose on the stbd engine. 10 min fix 2 hours to find the hose.
